Stories and Teachings of a Hippie Elder

a

Deep in the Hawaiian jungle...

i

My debut book, Like the Sun at Midday, tells the story of my year in an untamed corner of Hawaii. At 20, I went to the remote islands seeking adventure, and something magnificent I couldn't quite name. On the island, I met Whit—50 years my senior and as revolutionary as they come. Without attempting to arrive at an answer, us two unlikely friends sat together for many months, asking: What is the truth? And how can we live in deeper alignment with it?

Wild stories and nuggets of wisdom from Whit's life as one of the original hippies of the counterculture movement generously poured through him. Whit became a gateway for me to unconventional paths of self-discovery and healing.

Essence of: an essay series

Magic! Miracles! Mysteries! Yes please. Essence of is an editorial deep dive into meaning. This curation of words and imagery is an invitation to pull the curtain back on the sacred depth embedded in everyday life. Each essay explores the essence of a particular theme through flowery metaphor and personal narrative.

This series was born out of a longing for depth in our modern, short-form world; a desire to fully immerse myself (and you, dear reader!) in an energy, and rise back to the surface with something meaningful to share.
